The FINIS Lap Track does exactly that, acts as an underwater lap
counter and timer – a swimmer’s own personal pace clock! The clear 6” by 6”
display allows a swimmer to keep track of split times, calories burned, and of
course, number of laps, all while continuously swimming.
The Lap Track fits on most all pool decks as there are various ways of
which the unit can be mounted. Included with the packaging is all the necessary
set-up equipment: 2 pairs of suction cups (for different sizes tiles), an attachable
platform with extenders for use in pools that aren’t tiled, and a carrying bag that
doubles as a water weight to stabilize the base of the extenders. The Lap Track
comes ready-to-use with 2 AAA batteries and no need for additional operating
equipment purchases.
There are four ways to mount the device. At its most basic level, if the
water level is even with the pool deck, the Lap Track can simply be placed face
up on top of the deck. In a pool where the water level does not reach deck level
(standard pool), the Lap Track can be placed above or below water level, utilizing
the suction cups provided. When set correctly, the suction cups will allow the Lap Track to remain submerged in the
water and fully attached at the wall. If desired, one may attach the Lap Track to the extenders and utilize the water
weight carrying bag to stabilize the unit underneath the water. This system works exceptionally well as the weight of the
water prevents shifting, thus allowing the sturdy unit to remain suspended in place after several taps.
